    Our mission, here at the Palm Beach County Health Department, is to promote and protect a healthy community and environment by assuring that you receive essential public health services.

In providing these services our focus is on prevention. We are the Champions for the Healthiest Community in the Nation.

    Some of the essential services provided are:

  • Monitor and identify community health problems
    Diagnose and investigate health problems and hazards to the community
     
  • Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues
     
  • Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems
     
  • Develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts
     
  • Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety
     
  • Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable
     
  • Assure a competent public health and personal health workforce
     
  • Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility and quality of personal and population based health services
     
  • Research of new insights and innovative solutions to health problems.

    Together we have made Palm Beach County a national and international leader in Public Health. We look forward to continuing these and other services to you and the community.

This is a low cost policy for residents of Palm Beach County who have no health insurance coverage or have lost their coverage for over 6 months.
