Earth Day - 2008

Earth Globe - 2008

Earth Day, which was founded in 1970 by Senator Gaylord Nelson,
will celebrate its 39th year on April 22, 2008.

Earth Day has been an annual event for people around the world to celebrate
the earth and renew our commitment to building a safer, healthier, and cleaner
world for everyone. Some small steps we can take to keep our environment
healthy are:

  • Eat locally grown food. If the food doesn't have to travel far, there's less pollution from the trucks that ship it.

  • Eat fruits and vegetables in season. Again, that saves the enormous transportation costs.

  • Plant your own fruit and vegetable garden. Consume plant - based foods from the earth, such as fruits and vegetables, as part of a healthy lifestyle to help protect against chronic diseases.

  • Utilize what you have to the best of your ability. Reduce, reuse, and recycle products.
