PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – A registered dietitian has already done the research and now is a great time to take advantage of the advice and science they use to tailor a nutrition program.

    Throughout the month of March in cooperation with the Palm Beach County Health Department’s Community Health Division, Palm Beach Dietetic Association, The School District of Palm Beach County, the American Heart Association and University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service a number of events are planned that will help everyone make healthy choices in the way they eat.

The Board of County Commissioners has proclaimed March National Nutrition Month® and March 10 as Registered Dietitian Day as a way of recognizing all of the good work dietitians provide in the community. The C.L. Brumback Health Center in Belle Glade will also be opening its food pantry for the first time on this day to help its community obtain food security.

Some key events throughout the month are:

• National Nutrition Month® book display at the Palm Beach County Library, Summit Blvd.
   
• Healthier State in 2008 a panel of nutrition experts discussing nutrition throughout a persons life cycle. Cooperative Extension Service, 559 N. Military Trail, 9 AM to noon, March 11.
   
• Fruit tasting at the Publix GreenWise Market in Palm Beach Gardens, March 19.
   
• Diabetes Presentation, Palm Beach County Public Library, Summit Blvd, March 27.
   
• Health and Nutrition Fairs Palm Beach Gardens High School, March 25 and Gove Elementary School, Belle Glade, March 27.
   
• City of Boynton Beach Health and Wellness Fair, March 27.
   
• Community Health and Safety Fair at the Beacon Center of South Grade Elementary, Lake Worth, 10 AM to 3 PM , March 29.
   
• Medicine and Food Go Hand in Hand a presentation at the Delray Beach Health Center Annex, 245 S. Congress, March 28.
   
• Throughout the month the Palm Beach County Health Department Health Centers will be sponsoring informational seminars with its dietitians.
