Prevent Diseases When Traveling Abroad
Are you planning a trip out of the
country? What diseases commonly occur at your destination? What
immunizations do you need before you go? How do you find out this
important information and where do you go to get immunized?
There are many internet web sites that give health advice to travelers.
Some are listed below. Click on the site and check the country or
countries of interest. Learn what diseases commonly occur and become
aware of the needed immunizations and/or prophylaxis.
There are several physicians and
offices in Palm Beach County where you can receive immunizations. Among
these are two locations at Palm Beach County Health Department: the
Lantana Lake Worth Health Center at 1250 Southwinds Drive, Lantana,
Florida, 561-547-6800 and the Jupiter Health Center at 6405 Indiantown
Road, Jupiter, FL, 561-746-6751. Ask to speak with Overseas
Immunizations to schedule an appointment. A consultation fee of $45 is
required and immunizations are additional. No insurance is accepted.
Enjoy your trip and while you’re away remember, hand washing is the
single most important step in preventing illness!
